“There can be no greater gift than that of giving one’s time and energy to help others without expecting anything in return.”
Nelson Mandela
On 18 July we celebrated the legacy of this incredible leader whose life has impacted all of us in South Africa. We celebrate his memory by giving of our time and energy so that others will be uplifted, blessed and encouraged in their everyday lives. Many businesses, volunteers and friends shared their 67 minutes with our families and staff.
Mary, Andy and Sally visited the adult Bible Study and enjoyed tea with the Zone 7 ladies, who shared testimonies of the goodness of God in their lives over the past three years.

Diana, Carrie, Lisa, Susan, Natalie and Hestie visited the Education Centre laden with cupcakes and goodies for the youth and children. Diana and Ancel took 12 of our children to the movies, a first time experience for them.
Some families sent seedlings, seeds and compost for our food gardens. Other folk sent blankets and beanies, both such thoughtful gifts during our cold winter.
Soft Landing blessed us with pre-packed meals for families in the community and The Gift School invited 12 of our children for a playdate. What a fantastic idea to see our kids from different communities, playing, laughing and doing life together.
We will never forget the festivities and celebration on this special day, made possible by communities coming together to celebrate life, in all its fullness. I think those who gave were more blessed than the recipients, but then again, isn’t that how it’s meant to be?
