Fig Trees for Themba

We were thrilled to get a donation of fig trees from Rob Bourke and Shiree Price and spent a day planting them in our various gardens. 

Sally Versfeld gave a lesson to the staff and families on how to transplant fruit trees, which included using a strong support around them. Then she taught some teens how to make a compost heap on the church property. 

A young boy, who been suspended from school for fighting, took a liking to us. So we took him under our wing for the day, teaching him some skills and building a relationship which will hopefully allow the staff to work not only with him but also to see a positive impact on his household.
