Holy Trinity Ministries church is the location used for numerous Usapho Indlu programs. The children gather there every afternoon for their Education program, the adults for their Thursday morning Bible studies and the community members congregate here for the fortnightly Health workshops (run by Door of Hope).
Pastor Nokuzola Matiti and her congregation are precious to Usapho Indlu and the partnership we share is a valuable asset in beginning to make transformation a reality in our communities. So when the Usapho Indlu leadership realised that the pastor’s house – which is adjacent to the church building and where Pastor Matiti and three generations of her family live – only had half a roof, they knew something had to be done. And quickly.
The word regarding the need for a new roof was put out there and after a few days delay due to poor weather, work could finally start on 30 July. One by one the compromised wooden roof beams were removed along with the plastic sheet and replaced by a professionally installed roof.
Finally the Matiti family could properly move all their belongings into the bedrooms covered by their new roof and unpack their clothes and bedding without having to be concerned of any rain forecasts.
This project was made possible by donations especially from the George Methodist Ladies Bible study, the Fourie and Barwell families, and the installation professionals from the local Build It store.
